Matthew 7:7 (AMPC) – Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened. 

We might have read this verse number of times but the key here is to keep on asking, seeking, and knocking, don’t stop, don’t get in a comfortable spot to think now you know Him. Seeking Him continually is the healthiest position to be in as a believer. Often we read Jeremiah 29:11 and stop there. But that is just the beginning. But verses 12 & 13 are also important. God doesn’t say that you “might” find Me, but you WILL. How? When you seek Him half-heartedly? No! When you seek Him with all your heart. It is your passion that captures the attention of Heaven and connects you to the focus of your heart, which is Jesus. When we fan into flame the passion in our hearts for Jesus and seek Him with our heart and mind to know Him in whatever way He wants to reveal Himself, you will see Him. “John 14:21-Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them”. 

Don’t just cry out to see Him but for Him. Passion attracts Heaven. Passion is undignified. We know the story of Zacchaeus. The moment he heard about Jesus, he was so passionate to see Him that he climbed a tree! Can you imagine, being one of the wealthiest in that city, he climbed on a tree? He didn’t think of what people might think about him. The passion in his heart was undignified and he could do anything just to see Jesus. But God always rewards us more than what we ask, think, or imagine. Passion stirred blind Bartimaeus to cry out “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me”. They called Him Jesus of Nazareth, Son of the Most High God but no one called Him Son of David! Passion always releases divine revelation. It was his passion that allowed him to throw away his cloak when Jesus called him. He responded that “I will never go back to it ever again”. Passion allowed Mary Magdalene to encounter Jesus before He could return to the Father. It was her hunger and cry that caused Jesus to appear to her (John 20:10-18). 

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

How can we do it? How can I see what cannot be seen? By faith! Colossians 3:1-2 says to set our heart and mind on heavenly things. Wherever your heart will be, it will capture your attention. Get over the “poor me” or “why me” attitude where you keep asking God why am I the only one or you think in your heart “I know I will never have any divine experience, that’s just me”. No! You have to change your attitude toward Heaven. You are not ordinary. You have a profound destiny. That’s why you’re still alive and reading this. Because God wants you to know you are special to Him. And part of the adventure of knowing God is to see Him Face to Face, to encounter His Glory. Dear friends, He kept this privilege for our generation. He saved the best for the end, for us. But are we still hungry? Are we still seeking Him? When our hearts burn with a fresh passion to encounter Jesus, to know Him deeply, His Word says He will come and we will see Him. We are in a season of encountering Heaven on a scale like never before. How can we see the unseen? It starts with the imagination. Your imagination is powerful. Matthew 5:28 means that Jesus takes our imagination seriously. Faith activates it. But it starts when we begin to engage our imagination for the things of the Kingdom. When you pray start seeing Jesus in front of you as David says I have set the Lord always before me. See Him always in front of you, always along with you. When you start to do this, don’t give up and don’t stop. It might take some time but your perseverance is your breakthrough. Intimacy with God is the key. When you love Him with all your heart and mind and imagination, knowing how dearly you are loved by God, everything changes. God speaks through a sanctified imagination. You will notice after a while God will begin to talk to you through your imagination but it starts with practice. Have a desire to know Him intimately and to see what He is doing. On the mount of transfiguration in Matthew 17, Peter, James, and John could see into that realm. They could see everything. How? Because they were with Jesus. Our capacity to see is activated and increases with intimacy. It should be a passion for the person of Jesus and not just to see Him. 

Seeking Him continually is a position of victory. Seeking Him will also bring the change we are looking for in us. This is the reality dear friends. Ask the Holy Spirit to release a fresh passion for Jesus, to know Him intimately, and to encounter Him. God bless you.
