What’s Next for America- Roller Coasters & Mephibosheth

What’s next for America now? I have concluded that the year 2020 and roller coasters are very common. They’re full of surprises! And it is not subtle but sudden. I was down with a cold for a few days. I tried medicines but it didn’t work. The night I received this word, I was completely healed. As soon as I finished journaling everything, the cold left. It almost felt like something just lifted off of me. There were absolutely no symptoms after that. I was completely healed! As I share my experience of what happened that night, I don’t just want you to read, but try to hear the thoughts of the Father. Listen to what He is saying to you through this. I believe this is not just important for the United States but also is relevant for our lives, our cities, and our nation.

Back in the days, when there was no democracy but the monarchy, the Israelites demanded a king. They were not satisfied with what God had given them. They were not content with being fed and being taken care of as the very desired of the Lord. They desired a king. They wanted it to be the way it was with other nations. They wanted a king to rule over them. God had already appointed a judge over them to render justice but no, “a king is what we want”, was their resolve.

They finally got what they wanted. Their desires were met in the one called “Saul”, which means “desired”. That wasn’t what God had intended for that nation. But guess what? God always honors the decisions made by His children knowing that some of them aren’t to the best of their interests. Still, He works overtime and takes them through a process of growing & maturing, not because He is an angry God but a loving Father who watches His children grow and mature into the sons and daughters the creation is longing for.

Now, something spectacular happens in the story of Saul. In 2 Samuel 4:4, at the news of the death of their king Saul and his son Jonathan, the nurse taking care of Saul’s grandson took the child and tried to flee in haste. Lo and behold, along with the child she fell. The child’s name was Mephibosheth. Do you know what it means? The Strong’s Bible dictionary says, “Exterminating the idol”.

Where am I going with all this you may ask? While praying on the night of 11th November, I heard a still small voice say, “Mephibosheth”. I paused to catch a breath and immediately I said, “This is the Lord”. I gave Him my attention and started recollecting the story of Mephibosheth in my mind. I had my phone with me so almost instantly I googled up the verse and found 2 Samuel 4:4 and I read it. (There, I just gave you an insight into my process). As I was recollecting Saul’s story & Mephibosheth’s story in my mind, the Lord started speaking to me and that is exactly what I have written here.

So what’s my point? Even though it wasn’t God’s will, He still allowed Saul to become the leader of Israel for a season. And when the time was right, the idol that was the desired of all the people was utterly destroyed and God placed on the throne His chosen, the one after His own heart.

Now I don’t know if this could be the perfect ending to what I have written, but I still will end it here, to give you time to ponder and to allow the thoughts of the Holy Spirit to permeate your heart. I come from the Eastern part of the world and here this is primarily how we communicate, in circles!! Well, I could be wrong here also and I am open to corrections, because honestly now this is me trying my best to interpret and communicate the tiny bit of what the God of all creation has conveyed. I would love to hear your thoughts on this and what you have interpreted from this. I do believe this is just one part of the puzzle. I would love to know if you have something more to share. You can write to me on my mail or even send me a message on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter and I would love to connect with you.

I would appreciate it if you can share this with your family and friends via Facebook/Twitter/WhatsApp, and by sharing, you will help me to reach out to a wider audience with these blogs.

God bless everyone who reads. 🙂
