Recently, in an angelic encounter, I felt the Lord say, “Hold On”. Now for the curious ones, the question in your mind could be, “how did he hear God”, “what was he doing”…. Let me break it down for you. Honestly, I was simply reading the Word in the morning and while reading, I just became silent and waited. As I was waiting, with absolutely no agendas or hunger for an encounter, I saw a flash of light pass through my left eye (angelic activity) and immediately I paid attention to my thoughts. I had a thought soon after that, “Hold On”. As soon as I heard that, I thought “oh no, what more is going to happen that the Lord is saying “hold on”. And then I said to myself, “hey hey, relax, don’t be afraid”. You see, faith comes by hearing the Word of God, and what the enemy was trying to do was mix fear with faith. When I realized this, I became calm. I knew the Lord was encouraging me when He said, “Hold On”.
Let me give you a few examples. A long time ago, in a certain town, there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought about him. There was a widow who kept coming to him with a plea, “O great judge, please grant me justice against my adversary”. For some time the judge refused but later he thought, “even if I don’t fear God or care what people think, this widow keeps bothering me again and again. I will see that she gets justice so that she won’t have to come again and disturb me” (Luke 18:1-8). So the point here is that even if the judge had an “I don’t care” mentality, the widow got what she wanted through persistence and not giving up. And soon after this, Jesus made a profound statement saying, “But when the Son of Man of man comes, will He find faith on the earth”?
Abraham was someone like you and me. God told him, “look at the sky, count the number of stars- so shall your offspring be”. Before that, God had already changed his name to, “the father of many nations”. Well, how many kids did he have? None! But if you read Romans 4:18-21 you’ll start to wonder what kind of man was Abraham? What kind of faith did he really have to even ignore the fact that his body was as good as dead at 100 years old and Sarah’s womb was also dead at that age! What kind of faith did he really have to not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but it says, “he was strengthened in faith and gave glory to God”. What? Did you hear that? It isn’t about “what” faith he had, but “where” was his faith. Abraham knew that faith must be anchored in the unseen things. Often we get discouraged because our outward circumstances speak different from what our internal confessions are and we start losing hope, too fast, too soon. What then have we learned from Abraham’s example? He was unmoved by facts and held tightly to what God had said. Strengthen your faith dear friends in this season. Strengthen your faith in the middle of all that is going on in our country.
When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith? Or let me put it this way. The Son of God is already living in you. When He looks into your heart, does He find faith or fear? Hope or despair? Trust or doubt? I pray He sees faith in you, hope in you, and trust in you!
So when the Lord is saying “Hold On”, I believe we must hold on to our faith, hold on to the promises of God, most importantly, hold on to the peace of God. He is the Prince of Peace. So, acknowledge His Presence within you and breathe in His peace and release it in the atmosphere, and thank Him. He is our refuge and our fortress. Hold On!
